10 days to go. Just as there’s a season-long calendar of all the major men’s and women’s races to download, here’s the stage by stage Giro ical for your phone or electronic diary ahead of this Saturday’s grande partenza in Sanremo.
The calendar file has proved surprisingly popular for each grand tour. It lists each stage along with the distance and a stellar rating. The Giro awards stars to each stage to indicate the difficulty or importance, from one to five stars for the biggest days.
iCal
An iCal is a calendar file that you can store on your smartphone or electronic diary like Outlook. There are several ways to get this on to your computer or phone. Save the ics / iCal / iCalendar file and you can import it into your electronic diary. One or two clicks and it’s on your iPhone / Outlook etc. Alternatively you can use the Google calendar below, click on the bottom-right corner if you use Google.
For more tech support info on how to use the iCal and to get the calendar for all the main pro races of 2015 visit inrng.com/calendar.
Thanks for putting these together, they’re immensely useful!
I know this would be a lot more work, but if the events could be created not as full day events, but rather from the actual time that the racing begins, and the expected finish. That would be helpful. I usually know when to expect the finish, but sometimes there are shorter stages which finish earlier and I am caught out.
If it is not too much work that would be great for the Tour / Vuelta!
Other people like it this way as it doesn’t get in the way of real items in the diary. I’d welcome more feedback to see what others think.
Note the finish for all stages is forecast for 5.15pm CET each day.
I agree with Inner Ring. If the calendar was proper event with start/finish times it would interfere too much & I’d have to delete it.
Maybe start/finish time could be added to the titles?
(the Giro ical is great, btw – thx!)
I agree with Michael – but either way, thanks so much – it’s a brilliant thing!
Once again thanks for your effort. I am already counting down to la grande partenza.
Off topic: I know now, as a fact, that you are using a standard chainset with an inner ring at 39 😉
Thank you. Don’t change a thing.Simplest is often best.
Thanks INRNG (from another Sam)
the calender is great as it is. we are lucky to reap the rewards of all your hard work. many thanks as always.
