Meanwhile in France…

Whilst some debate dropped chains, let’s celebrate Thomas Voeckler’s powerful ride in the stage yesterday as this is actually what great racing is all about.

Having suffered a lot in the race, and coming close to pulling out on the stage to Gap, he found the strength to go in a breakaway in the Pyrenees. He dropped his breakaway companions on the Port de Balès and soloed away for a great win. Sometimes his attacks don’t work, sometimes they do. He’s got panache.

  1. Theres something special about french riders winning stages on Tour de France you can tell it means a hell of a lot to them, I cant help but find myself willing them on. With the french having a good stab this year maybe in the near future we may actually get to see a French GC contender
