I wrote a suggestion on here yesterday that should Alejandro Valverde get banned then race results from the past need to be updated instantly to leave things in no doubt: as soon as Valverde’s gone, he’s gone from the record books.
The idea has been picked up by French website cyclismag.fr. Here are the potential winners from the last year. Note that Dan Martin could be the winner of the Tour of Catalonia, Evans wins the Dauphiné, Sanchez the Vuelta and Spilak won in Romandie. Now this won’t allow riders there chance in the spotlight, to taste the champagne on the podium or even to get the trophy but it would be a strong symbolic gesture.
