In case you haven’t seen it, take a look at the Cycling Quotient website as it’s got a good ranking system and the subrankings are fun. Here’s a screenshot of the “most kilometres raced” rankings where you can see who has been racing the most this season, at least in UCI category .1 races and above.
Note the presence of Thomas Voeckler in third place. He’s famous for ignoring structured training sessions in favour of racing miles and the stats prove this. Giro d’Italia participants show up heavily in the rankings, normal since riders will have been racking up the races in preparation, then doing three weeks of racing. That’s a lot of pasta eaten so far.
Pozzato’s up there too. For a man often mocked as being soft and self-obsessed, that’s also a lot of time on the road.
