Cycling Podcast Reviews Part IV

The VeloCast

Hosted by two Scots with a sense of humour, it’s more than just pro cycling. They’ll talk about bike kit and industry issues as well as advocacy matters like planning and traffic. But the coverage on the racing scene is good.

They don’t get the scoops because they’re not on the ground – but nor does the cyclingnews.com podcast – yet the analysis is good and they’ve got a scoop or two of Scots sarcasm in their bidons, their take on the week’s events is bound to raise a smile.

Personally I like the wider coverage. They know the bike industry well and so it’s interesting to follow their take on, for example, the way SRAM is muscling Shimano aside, something that will have implications for all of us.

The guys know how to talk, the conversation flows well. They may not be pro broadcasters but it’s easy listening. All told, this is a good listen.

EDIT – October 2010: The Velocast has now stopped, the guys doing it found it was taking up too much time. Thanks to you both for the effort.
EDIT – again: The Velocast has restarted so tune in again.
